Fear Not 220

Perhaps you’re thinking about a big decision ahead, a change that feels necessary yet frightening. The Bible offers a gentle word for moments like these. Today’s verse is Genesis 46:3: “Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for there I will make you a great nation.” Jacob heard these words when famine threatened everything he knew. Leaving for Egypt meant stepping into the unknown—new land, new customs, and no guarantee of safety. Fear would have been understandable, yet God spoke directly to that fear with a promise of purpose and growth. We face our own versions of Egypt today. Some are weighing a job offer in another city, wondering if the move will bring stability or more stress. Others are navigating health updates, family transitions, or financial pressures that make the horizon look hazy. Even the broader news cycle can stir unease about the future. It’s natural to hesitate when the path ahead seems uncertain. Yet the same God who reassured Jacob walks with us now. He doesn’t promise an easy road, but He does promise His presence and a greater story unfolding. What feels like a descent can become the very place where blessings multiply—in relationships strengthened, character refined, or unexpected doors opening. This morning, take a moment to name your own “Egypt” and place it gently in God’s hands. As you sip your coffee or step outside for fresh air, remember that courage doesn’t mean the absence of fear; it means trusting the One who goes before you. You are not alone in this season. Hope is already at work, shaping something beautiful from what now feels uncertain. Let this truth settle in your heart as the day begins: the unknown is never empty when God is leading.
