Verse #154 of 220

Dear friends, as we welcome July 2026 with its long summer days and the quiet hum of everyday life, I want to share a gentle invitation from Psalm 34:8. "Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed are those who take refuge in him." These words feel like a warm hand extended in the middle of whatever storm we might be navigating right now. Life keeps moving fast. Many of us are carrying worries about work stability, family health, or the uncertain direction of the world around us. Bills arrive, news headlines flash, and sometimes the weight of it all makes rest feel impossible. Yet this verse reminds us that goodness is not far away. It is something we can taste, like the first bite of a meal shared with someone who cares. Taking refuge does not mean hiding from reality. It means stepping into the shelter of a love that steadies us while we keep walking forward. Think of the small moments that already hint at this goodness. A conversation with a friend that lifts your spirit. Sunlight breaking through clouds on your morning walk. The unexpected peace that arrives when you pause to pray instead of pushing through exhaustion. Each of these is an invitation to taste and see. When we choose refuge in God, we are not promised an instant fix for every problem. We are given strength to face them with hope that does not run out. So today, wherever you are, know that you are not alone in your questions or your fatigue. The Lord is near, ready to be experienced as truly good. May this truth settle into your heart and give you courage for the hours ahead. You are held, you are seen, and better days are already unfolding. #FearNot220 #154of220 #Catholic
