Verse #099 of 220

Dear friends, As we step into June 21, 2026, with the summer sun shining a little brighter each day, I find myself drawn to the quiet hope tucked inside today's verse. "And the Lord spoke to the fish: and it vomited out Jonas upon the dry land." (Jonah 2:10) It is a short line, yet it carries the weight of rescue after a long, dark season. Jonah had run, hidden, and ended up in the depths, surrounded by waves and uncertainty. Many of us know that feeling in our own way. Maybe it shows up as the pressure of rising costs or the quiet ache of loneliness that lingers even in a crowded room. Some are carrying health worries that doctors cannot yet name, while others watch the news and wonder where steady ground can still be found. Yet the verse reminds us that the story does not end in the deep. God spoke, and the fish became the very instrument of deliverance. What felt like an ending turned into a new beginning on solid land. That same God is still speaking today. He meets us in the places we never chose and gently moves us toward safety we could not arrange ourselves. If you are reading this and feel caught in your own version of the whale's belly, take heart. The waters may still feel high, but they are not final. Small mercies appear in a kind word from a friend, an unexpected solution at work, or the simple strength to get through one more day. These are the first signs that dry land is near. On this warm summer date, let us hold onto the truth that God specializes in second chances and fresh starts. He has not forgotten you. He is guiding you, even now, toward the shore where you can stand again with renewed purpose and quiet joy. #FearNot220 #099of220 #Catholic
