Verse #172 of 220

As we gather here on May 27, 2026, I want to share with you a verse that has been on my heart: "Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, for surely your reward is great in heaven..." from Luke 6:23. This scripture is part of Jesus' sermon on the plain, where He speaks to those who are persecuted or reviled for their faith. It's a powerful reminder that our temporary struggles are not in vain. Right now, many of us are navigating challenging times. With global events unfolding, such as ongoing discussions about peace in various regions and the impacts of economic shifts on everyday families, it's common to feel a sense of unease. Personal battles like job insecurity, relationship strains, or health worries can make each day feel heavy. Yet, Jesus invites us to rejoice. Not because the difficulties are pleasant, but because they point to a greater reward. This hope can transform how we approach our challenges. Instead of despair, we can find strength in knowing that heaven awaits with open arms. Consider the people around you – friends facing illness, communities dealing with division. In these moments, the call to leap for joy encourages us to lift our eyes upward. It fosters resilience and a sense of community as we support one another in faith. Today, let's choose hope. Whether through prayer, acts of kindness, or simply resting in God's promises, we can experience joy. The future holds promise, and our present faithfulness is seen and valued. In the face of rapid changes in society, like the integration of new technologies into our lives that can sometimes leave us feeling disconnected, or environmental concerns that weigh on parents thinking about the future for their children, this verse offers timeless comfort. It reminds us that no matter what the world throws our way, our identity in Christ is secure, and the joy we have is not dependent on circumstances but on the eternal love of God. May this message bring warmth to your heart and courage for whatever lies ahead. Remember, you are cherished, and better days are coming, both here and eternally. #FearNot220 #172of220 #Catholic
