Fear Not 220

Dear friends, as we reflect together on this May 19, 2026, I am drawn to a gentle reminder from Scripture that speaks right into the uncertainties many of us carry today. Our verse for this entry in the series, number 85, is from Jeremiah 42:11: "Do not fear the king of Babylon..." In the prophet's time, the people stood at a crossroads, their hearts heavy with dread over a powerful ruler whose armies could upend everything they held dear. We meet similar moments in our own lives right now. Some face the quiet anxiety of shifting job markets and rising costs that make planning feel uncertain. Others carry concern over global tensions, health challenges within families, or the steady pace of change brought by technology that seems to move faster each year. Social pressures, mental health struggles, and even the simple weight of daily responsibilities can start to feel like modern-day threats looming large. Still, the same God who spoke to those ancient listeners speaks to us. He does not ask us to ignore real difficulties or pretend everything is fine. Instead, He invites us to remember that we are not facing these things alone. His presence offers strength to take the next small step, wisdom to seek good counsel, and peace that steadies the heart when headlines or personal news feel overwhelming. Take a moment today to pause and name what you fear most. Then hand it over, knowing you are held by love that has already overcome greater powers. This hope is not a distant dream but a steady companion for whatever the rest of 2026 may bring. You are more resilient than your worries suggest, and brighter days remain possible.
