Dear friends in Christ, As we journey through the ups and downs of life, it's easy to feel overwhelmed by the challenges that come our way. But today, let's draw strength from the timeless words of Scripture in 1 Chronicles 28:20: '...be firm and steadfast... do not fear or be discouraged...' These words were spoken by King David to his son Solomon as he prepared to build the temple—a monumental task that seemed daunting, even impossible. Yet, David reminded Solomon that God was with him, providing the courage and resolve needed to press on. In our Catholic faith, this verse echoes the promises of our loving Father. Just as God supported Solomon in his mission, He supports us in ours. Whether you're facing a health crisis, financial struggles, relationship difficulties, or the everyday stresses of work and family, remember that you are not alone. The Lord, who parted the seas for Moses and calmed the storms for the apostles, is the same God who walks beside you today. Being 'firm and steadfast' doesn't mean we never waver or feel weak. It means anchoring our hearts in God's unwavering love and grace. In the sacraments, especially the Eucharist, we receive the spiritual nourishment to stand strong. Through prayer—perhaps a daily Rosary or quiet time in Adoration—we invite the Holy Spirit to fortify our spirits. And in community, with our fellow believers, we find encouragement and solidarity. Do not fear, my brothers and sisters. Fear is a tool of the enemy, designed to paralyze us and distract from God's plan. Instead, let faith be your shield. Remember the saints who faced persecution, poverty, and doubt yet remained steadfast: St. Teresa of Ávila, who reformed her order amid opposition; St. John Paul II, who led the Church through turbulent times with unshakeable trust in Divine Mercy. Their examples show us that with God, no obstacle is insurmountable. Nor should we be discouraged. Discouragement whispers that our efforts are futile, but God's Word assures us otherwise. Every small act of kindness, every prayer offered, every step taken in faith contributes to His greater glory. If you're feeling low, turn to the Psalms, confess your worries in Reconciliation, or seek counsel from a spiritual director. God delights in lifting us up when we humble ourselves before Him. Let this verse be a beacon in your day. Be firm in your convictions, steadfast in your commitments, fearless in your pursuits, and undiscouraged in your trials. The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—the God who sent His Son to redeem us—is with you always. He will not fail you or forsake you. So rise up, beloved! Embrace the tasks before you with joy and confidence. Your faithfulness will bear fruit in ways you can't yet imagine. May the peace of Christ fill your hearts, and may Our Lady, Star of the Sea, guide you through any storms. Let's support one another in prayer and love. God bless you abundantly! In His love, A fellow pilgrim
