Dear friends in Christ, As we journey through the ups and downs of life, there are moments when fear grips our hearts—fear of the unknown, fear of failure, fear of loss. But today, let's turn our gaze to the powerful words from the Gospel of Matthew: "Do not be afraid!" (Matthew 28:5). These words were spoken by an angel to the women who had come to Jesus' tomb, their hearts heavy with grief and uncertainty. They arrived expecting death, but instead, they encountered the miracle of resurrection. The angel's message wasn't just a reassurance; it was a divine proclamation that changed everything. Imagine the scene: the stone rolled away, the tomb empty, and a heavenly messenger shining with glory. "Do not be afraid," he says, "for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said." In that instant, fear gave way to joy, despair to hope. This is the essence of our faith—God conquering death, banishing fear with the light of eternal life. In our own lives, we face tombs of sorts: the tombs of doubt, anxiety, illness, broken relationships, or financial struggles. We might feel like those women, approaching with trembling steps, wondering if there's any hope left. But the angel's words echo through the ages to us: Do not be afraid! Jesus has risen, and He is with us always. He has overcome the world, and in Him, we find the strength to face whatever comes our way. As Catholics, we are called to live in this resurrection hope. Remember the sacraments—Eucharist, where we receive Christ's very presence; Confession, where fears are washed away in mercy; and prayer, our direct line to the Father who calms every storm. Let us draw from the examples of the saints: St. Teresa of Ávila, who said, "Let nothing disturb you, let nothing frighten you, all things are passing away: God never changes." Or St. John Paul II, who opened his papacy with "Be not afraid!" inspiring millions to trust in God's plan. Today, I encourage you: whatever fear is whispering in your ear, counter it with faith. Step out in courage, knowing that the Risen Lord walks beside you. Share this message with someone who needs it—a friend, a family member, or even a stranger. Let's build a community where fear has no place, replaced by the peace that only Christ can give. May the words "Do not be afraid" resonate in your heart, filling you with warmth and encouragement. God bless you abundantly! In Christ's love, Your fellow pilgrim
