Dear friends in Christ, As we journey through the ups and downs of life, there are moments when the weight of our responsibilities feels overwhelming. Whether it's the daily grind of our jobs, the challenges of raising a family, or pursuing a dream that seems just out of reach, it's easy to let fear and discouragement creep in. But today, I want to share with you a powerful verse from the First Book of Chronicles that has been a beacon of hope for me and countless others: '...go to work without fear or discouragement...' (1 Chronicles 28:20). This verse comes from a tender moment in Scripture where King David is speaking to his son Solomon. David, knowing his time is short, entrusts Solomon with the monumental task of building the Temple of the Lord. Imagine the pressure Solomon must have felt! Yet, David doesn't just hand over blueprints; he offers words of profound encouragement. He reminds Solomon to be strong and courageous, to do the work, and assures him that God will not fail or forsake him until the work is complete. What a beautiful reminder for us as Catholics! In our own lives, God calls each of us to 'go to work' – not just in our professions, but in building His kingdom here on earth. This could mean serving in our parishes, nurturing our faith communities, or simply living out our vocations with love and integrity. And just like Solomon, we might feel inadequate or afraid. The world throws curveballs: economic uncertainties, health issues, relational strains. Discouragement whispers that we're not enough, that our efforts are futile. But hear this: Our loving Father, the same God who guided Solomon, is with you right now. He doesn't call the equipped; He equips the called. Through the sacraments, especially the Eucharist, we receive the grace to face each day with renewed strength. Remember the words of St. Paul: 'I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me' (Philippians 4:13). When fear knocks, let faith answer the door. So, my dear brothers and sisters, let's embrace this encouragement today. Go to your work – whatever that may be – without fear or discouragement. Trust that God is by your side, providing the wisdom, courage, and perseverance you need. If you're starting a new job, facing a deadline, or even just getting through a tough week, know that you're not alone. Offer your labors to the Lord, and watch how He transforms them into something glorious. Let us pray: Heavenly Father, thank You for Your constant presence. Help us to work diligently, free from fear, knowing You are with us. Through the intercession of Mary, our Mother, grant us the grace to build Your kingdom with joyful hearts. Amen. May this verse inspire you to step forward boldly. Share in the comments how God's encouragement has helped you in your work! God bless you abundantly. In Christ's love, Your fellow pilgrim
