🌟 #FearNot220: Verse #116 of 220 🌟 Dear friends in Christ, as we journey through the Scriptures' powerful calls to courage, today we pause at the radiant dawn of resurrection hope in Matthew 28:5: 'Do not be afraid!' These words, spoken by the angel to the women at the empty tomb, shatter the shadows of grief and fear with the light of Easter joy. Imagine the scene—the stone rolled away, the guards trembling, and these faithful women, hearts heavy with sorrow, encountering a messenger from heaven. 'Do not be afraid,' he declares, for the Crucified One has risen! In that moment, terror gives way to triumph, doubt to divine assurance. This isn't just a historical echo; it's a living invitation for us today. St. John Chrysostom, that golden-tongued Father of the Early Church, reflects beautifully on this in his Easter Homily: 'Let no one fear death, for the Savior's death has set us free... O Death, where is your sting? O Hell, where is your victory?' He reminds us that the resurrection conquers every fear—be it the fear of loss, failure, or the unknown. Just as the angel's words lifted the women's gaze from the tomb to the Risen Lord, so too does Christ's victory invite us to rise above our anxieties. Think of your own life, beloved. Perhaps you're facing a health scare that keeps you up at night, or the uncertainty of a job loss that looms like a storm cloud. Maybe it's the quiet fear of loneliness in a bustling world, or the worry over a loved one's struggles. I've been there—those moments when fear whispers that all is lost. But gently, like a friend taking your hand, remember: the same God who rolled away the stone rolls away our burdens. In the sacraments, especially the Eucharist, we encounter this Risen Christ anew, drawing strength from His presence. As Pope St. John Paul II often said, 'Be not afraid!'—for God is with us, transforming our fears into faith. So, dear soul, whatever shadows linger today, hear the angel's voice afresh: 'Do not be afraid!' Step forward in trust, knowing the tomb is empty and hope is alive. Let this truth warm your heart and guide your steps. You are loved, you are held, and you are called to live fearlessly in His light. May the peace of the Risen Lord fill you abundantly! 🙏✨ #FearNot220 #116of220 #Catholic
