Fear Not 220

St. John Chrysostom, that golden-mouthed preacher of Antioch, reflected on such passages with profound insight. He taught that earthly tyrants, like the Assyrians, are but instruments in God's hands—permitted for a season to refine us, but ultimately powerless against the divine will. Beloved, let this be our encouragement today: Do not fear the 'Assyrians' in your life, for the Lord God of hosts is with you!
