Verse #111 of 220

Dear friends in Christ, in the Gospel of Matthew 10:26, our Lord Jesus speaks these comforting words: 'Therefore do not be afraid of them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known.' What a profound invitation to trust in God's divine providence! In a world that often feels shrouded in uncertainty and fear, Jesus reminds us that truth will always prevail, and we need not cower before those who oppose us. Reflecting on this, let's turn to the wisdom of the Early Church Fathers. St. John Chrysostom, that golden-mouthed preacher of Antioch, beautifully expounds on this passage in his homilies. He teaches that just as the disciples were sent out like sheep among wolves, facing persecution, so too are we called to boldness in faith. Chrysostom urges us not to fear the temporary shadows of this world, for God's light will reveal all things in due time. He writes that our fears are often illusions, magnified by the enemy, but Christ's assurance pierces through them, empowering us to proclaim the Gospel without reservation. In our everyday lives, this verse gently connects to those moments when we hesitate to stand up for what's right—perhaps at work, when speaking truth to power feels risky, or in our families, where sharing our faith might invite misunderstanding. Think of the single parent facing financial worries, the student bullied for their beliefs, or the professional navigating ethical dilemmas. Jesus whispers to us all: Do not be afraid. Your hidden struggles are seen by the Father, and He will bring justice and revelation in His perfect timing. So, beloved, let us embrace this promise with joyful hearts! Step forward in faith, knowing that God is with you. Fear not the darkness, for the light of Christ overcomes all. You are cherished, protected, and called to shine. May the Holy Spirit fill you with courage today and always. Amen. #FearNot220 #111of220 #Catholic
