Fear Not 220

🕊️ #FearNot Bible Series: 'Fear not therefore: better are you than many sparrows.' (Matthew 10:31, Douay-Rheims Bible) Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, In the heart of His commissioning of the Apostles, our Lord Jesus speaks words of profound comfort amid warnings of persecution. Just moments before, He reminds us that not a single sparrow falls to the ground without our Heavenly Father's notice—not a hair of our head is forgotten. Then comes this gem: 'Fear not therefore: better are you than many sparrows.' What tender assurance! God, Who sustains the lowliest of creation, values you infinitely more. You are not overlooked; you are cherished beyond measure. The Early Church Fathers illuminate this truth beautifully. In the Catena Aurea, St. John Chrysostom reflects: 'He shows nothing is wanting to us, but that we fear not... If then He both numbers the hairs of your head, and suffers not the sparrow to fall to the ground without His leave, why do ye fear?' Remigius adds: 'He comforts them, saying, Fear not therefore, because ye are of more worth than many sparrows.' These saints echo Christ's message: Your worth is rooted in His loving providence. No trial, no foe, no uncertainty escapes His gaze. Today, whatever stirs fear in your heart—health struggles, financial woes, relational strife, or the shadows of our world—lift your eyes to Him. He Who fed the multitudes, calmed the storm, and rose victorious over death holds you securely. You are etched in His heart, more precious than gold, more vital than breath. Let this truth sink deep: 'Fear not!' Trust in His perfect care. Surrender your anxieties at the foot of the Cross. He is your Refuge, your Strength, your exceeding great Reward.
