🕊️ "Fear Not" Bible Series: Judges 4:18 (Douay-Rheims Bible) "And Jahel went forth to meet Sisara, and said to him: Come in to me my lord, come in, fear not. He went in to her tent, and being covered by her with a cloak." In the dramatic clash of Judges 4, as Deborah and Barak triumph over Canaan's oppressors by God's command, the enemy general Sisera flees in terror. Weary, parched, and desperate, he reaches the tent of Jael, wife of Heber the Kenite. With reassuring words—"Come in, my lord, come in, fear not"—she draws him inside, quenches his thirst with milk, and covers him for rest. But divine providence unfolds: while Sisera sleeps, Jael boldly drives a tent peg through his temple, delivering Israel from tyranny. What began as an invitation to safety became the instrument of God's justice! A meaningful insight from the Early Church Fathers, reflected in the Glossa Ordinaria: Jael typifies the Church Militant. She lures the devil (figured in Sisera) with the sweet milk of Gospel doctrine—"Come, fear not"—then slays him with the nail of Christ's Cross. Thus, God's Word disarms our spiritual foes. Dear friend, amid your own battles—be they storms of doubt, anxiety, loss, or persecution—God echoes Jael's call: "Come in to Me, fear not." He is your true refuge, stronger than any tent. When fears pursue you like Sisera's army, run to Him. He covers you with the mantle of His protection, His peace that surpasses understanding. Trust Him wholly. He Who parted seas, toppled giants, and raised the dead speaks today: "Fear not, for I am with you." Release your burdens at His feet. Let His 'fear not' dispel every shadow. In His embrace, your enemies are vanquished. What 'tent of fear' is He inviting you from today? Step in, rest, and witness His victory! 🙏❤️ #FearNot #BeNotAfraid #Judges418 #TrustGod #BibleEncouragement #DailyDevotional #FearNot220 #Catholic
